As a child, I wanted to win the lottery and send five trucks through Amsterdam, scattering wildflower seeds along every street. I believed then, and still believe, that “impossible” can lose its meaning when you put love and energy into the path you take. Let Me Change Your Concept of Impossible is my posthumous message to that child — and to every child with a thousand dreams. Each dream is a precious seed waiting to grow.
Lyrics
I say let it rain down on us
With four-leaf clovers and marigolds
Let’s dance among the greenest grass
And somewhere between tomorrows
Let me change whatever needs to change
To make the future bend your way
Let me change your concept of impossible
I feel like dancing underneath the stars
Through a forest of forgotten tales
Watching the sunrise kiss the hills
Filled with the charm of endless days
Leaving new footprints toward the horizon
Butterfly kisses on your sun-kissed face
Let me never understand
Why the light shines quite so bright
Just let me change your concept of impossible
Standing here on this hillside
Watching shooting stars ignite
Burning brighter than our fears
A thousand fireflies arise
Like a thousand little lights
Shining through the coming years
We’re done asking fate for permission
Done waiting for signs in the sky
We walk where the wildflowers lead us
Let’s just do instead of try
The mountains don’t tell us the distance
The stars never ask if we can
We carry tomorrow within us
Before it unfolds in our hands
So let us change the concept of impossible
So let us change the concept of impossible
Let’s love
Let’s let our souls shine tonight
Let’s live next to forever
So let us change the concept of impossible
So let us change the concept of impossible
With four-leaf clovers and marigolds

Story
growing up next to Vondelpark. A neighborhood that back then wasn’t yet crowded.
Lots of kids played in the street.
You went to school by bike or on foot.
And the summers… the summers were endlessly long.
Safe in bed, hearing your parents chat while the summer breeze plays with the curtains.
The smell of peanut butter and apple in your lunchbox.
Endless time…
infinitely much time

Lyrics
Als ik terugkijk naar de lange zomers
in oud, stoffig groen
zie ik mijn schaduw op de stoep
stoffige schoenen die niks bijzonders doen
De zomer duurde eeuwig
in het park de geur na regen
onder reusachtige bladeren
uren turen naar,
het licht dat blijft bewegen
Rozijnen en roze koeken
het koude water uit de kraan
Niets was ingewikkeld of saai
en je hoefde niets te vinden
of te zoeken
De tijd was grenzeloos
bijna niet te bevatten,
Vreemd hoe dat verandert
De tijd lijk nu zo broos
(Pre-Chorus)
Tijd werd ergens een woord
en dat woord dat kreeg gewicht
Daarvoor was er alleen nu
en altijd licht
en NU kende geen
ver-gezicht
Alle tijd voor altijd
alle tijd voor nu
Alle tijd voor altijd
toen tijd nog niets was
Alle tijd voor altijd
geen voor, geen na
Alle tijd voor altijd
dat dacht ik toen
Ik rende door het doolhof van tijd
zonder maat, zonder vergelijking
Geluk en geen seconde spijt
om er echt te zijn
Dagen die gewoon er waren
blikken die uren konden staren
ik zie terug de plaatjes
en die wonen stil in mij
Mama maakte broodjes
legde er een appel bij
Beneden op het balkon
werden stemmen langzaam stil
Witte gordijnen ademen warmte
de stad werd zacht en wijd
Fluweelblauwe luchten gloeide
tussen avond en tijd
Ik hoor geluiden uit het vondelpark
zie de lucht bewegen
als theeblaadjes vliegen er spreeuwen
door de laatste lichte regen
Alle tijd voor altijd
alle tijd voor nu
Alle tijd voor altijd
voor de tijd ons kent
Alle tijd voor altijd
licht als een zomerdag
Alle tijd voor altijd
zolang je bent
alle tijd voor altijd
Ik vraag me af
wanneer tijd echt begon
Misschien pas toen ik begreep
wat woorden ermee doen
Soms wou ik
dat ik het vergat
en weer had
alle tijd voor altijd
alle tijd
alle tijd alle tijd
alle tijd voor al-tijd

Story
This song is about someone who experiences the world more intensely and quickly than many people around her.
It is about the longing to be truly seen and understood, without having to feel strange or ‘too much’.
In ordinary encounters, she picks up on emotions and pain that others barely seem to notice.
That sensitivity can be exhausting and lonely, but it is also a profound way of connecting with other people.
And despite the weariness and the longing for silence, she keeps searching for her ‘tribe’: people who feel the world in a similar way.

Lyrics
Doch meine Gedanken fliegen weit hinaus, hinaus ins Licht,
Niemand sagt, was wirklich zählt — was uns im Innern trägt,
meines Stamms?
—
Sie gibt es,
irgendwo
im Land.

Story
Something’s Off is about that moment when you sense that something has changed, before you can explain exactly what. A small shift, a look, a sentence, a phone checked one time too many. You keep telling yourself it’s all in your head, while something underneath keeps telling you otherwise.
Something’s Off is an English adaptation of the German song Irgendetwas stimmt hier nicht

Lyrics
[Instrumental]
[Verse 1]
One, two, three
Here we are again
Middle of summer
You’re still my man
But something shifted in the frame
New words in the air
That don’t belong to you
And I know every corner
Of your life
So why does all this feel so new
Tracing this beat
That doesn’t belong to you
(whisper)
New shirt, how nice
[Pre-Chorus]
That sentence
That look
Look-look-look
Why do I hear
Something underneath
While my heart counts
Every missing beat
[Chorus]
Something’s off
But the whole room shines
Your touch
Your smile
Your “I’m right here”
Still sounds out of time
And all at once
Everything feels
Strangely out of place
Like your words
Have been rehearsed
For somebody else’s face
I keep talking myself down
Till I think it’s all in my head
(whisper)
And then you look away
Instead
[Verse 2]
Later in bed, half awake
I reach into dark air
Then laughter again
Our old private jokes
Like nothing’s there
For a second
Everything looks like before
Then I start again
Counting every silence
Like numbers on the floor
(whisper)
Looked at your phone twice
In four minutes
[Pre-Chorus 2]
One more sentence
That lingers too long
One more glance
That doesn’t fit
Doesn’t belong
Middle of summer
Suddenly winter
I fix our dinner
But something stirs beneath
While my heart counts
Every missing beat
[Chorus]
Something’s off
While we dance around it
Between your words
Something unfamiliar moves
And I count every silence
Every glance
Every hesitation
Till I no longer trust
What should be true
(whisper)
Too quick
Too neat
[Bridge]
You explain away the cracks
Velvet breakdown
Every time
You smooth it over
Like a four-leaf clover
Three
Two
One
[Final Chorus]
I’m falling out
Of a failing paradise
I want out
Of your labyrinth
All this checking
Everything twice
While you keep playing
Mister Nice
[Outro]
I’ve been down this road before
And I don’t need
To know more
I’m taking my dancing
Off your floor

Story
This song can be heard as a conversation between two people, but also as a therapeutic dialogue in which someone is confronted with a painful blind spot.
One person tries to make the other see that she does not really miss him, but rather what he could never be — and what she lost of herself along the way.
At the same time, the song leaves open whether this truth is actually hers, or an interpretation being imposed on her by someone else.
The repeated “snap het dan” therefore carries both care and desperation, but also sheer frustration.
Ultimately, the song is not only about what happened behind closed doors, but about how difficult it can be to make someone see what they are not yet able to see.

Lyrics
De lucht staat stil in deze kamer
alsof de tijd niet verder wil
zit jij daar bevroren
jij wil zo graag horen
of hij ooit kon zien
dat hij jouw grenzen
steeds verder boog
Jij wilde weten
of hij ooit voelde
of hij snapte
wat jij bedoelde
Op de laatste drempel
zei hij achteloos
dat jij hem
nog iets schuldig was
alsof je liefde een rekening was
dat is het antwoord wat hij koos
snap het dan
snap het dan
En dan breekt zij open
Achter
gesloten deuren
werd al het zachte
hard
Achter
gesloten deuren
viel jouw waarheid
uit elkaar
Maar luister
jij mist hem niet
jij mist wat hij
nooit kon zijn
jij mist hem niet
jij mist nu vooral
de pijn
Jij wil vrede sluiten
met hem
maar hij is er niet
hij is daar de man niet naar
verbrandt zijn schepen
en is dan klaar
Lieve schat
die vrede zit
in jou
stap in DAT licht
doe nou maar
doe nou maar
Jij kijkt nog steeds
in de donkerte
van zijn ogen
maar die schuld
is niet van jou
zie dat nou
zie dat nou
En dan opent zij
haar mooie ogen
Achter
gesloten deuren
werd al het zachte
hard
Achter
gesloten deuren
kwam de waarheid
aan het licht
maar
ZIJ mist hem niet
ZIJ mist haar eigen verlangen
ZIJ mist hem niet
ZIJ mist nu vooral
Zichzelf
gooi je deuren open
lief
Sta in het licht van mijn zon
Adem nu en
snap het dan
snap het dan
het komt goed
met jou
goed met jou

Story
“Ik ben je niet vergeten” is about the traces people leave in each other’s lives. Whoever we meet along the way — a partner, friend, family member, or someone who crosses our path for only a short time — every connection changes something. Some traces may initially feel painful or even devastating, yet they can also contain moments of growth and insights that only become clear much later. Every connection gives us something, and at the same time, we leave something of ourselves with the other person. Not everything has to last to have meaning.
Lyrics
Niets gaat ooit verloren
Jij hebt delen in mij geraakt
Die ik toen nog niet verstond
Pas veel later kwam het inzicht
Welke betekenis daarin bestond
Niet elk pad gaat even ver
Soms opent iemand enkel deuren

Story
Blue Pill plays with the familiar choice from The Matrix: do you want to keep the comfortable illusion, or do you want to know what is really underneath it?
In this song, that choice becomes personal. Three different women live inside one mind ; desire, fire, fantasy, doubt and temptation. All of them real, all of them part of the same person.
Sometimes you want the truth. Sometimes you long for the comfort of not knowing.
Blue Pill explores the tension between reality and fantasy, between knowing and choosing not to know — and how much truth we can actually bear.

Lyrics
The sun keeps spilling secrets
Into the corners of my eyes
Golden splinters in yours caught in sunlight
Turn to butterflies
A question falls between us
But drifts beyond my reach
And every song inside my head
Starts singing over me
Why oh why
Why oh why
Isn't there a blue pill
Give me the blue pill
I don't want to know
Three girls live inside me
And none will let me go
Blue pill
Blue pill
Three girls live inside me
And none will let me go
One is made of moonlight
One is made of fire
One keeps dancing barefoot
Through my wild desire
Peter Pan is laughing
Somewhere in the trees
Titania and Oberon
Are whispering through the leaves
A black spider spins her silver thread
Across a glass of wine
And every road I shouldn't take
Looks beautiful tonight
Give me the blue pill
I don't want to know
Three girls live inside me
And none will let me go
Blue pill
Blue pill
I am tired of choosing
Who I have to be today
One heart filled with longing
One heart dressed in sin
One heart still pretending
She can keep them all within
I told my heart a story
And it followed every word
Built a castle from a shadow
And believed in what I saw
I told my heart a lie
And it wore it like a crown
Now we're dancing with temptation
While the moon is falling down
Give me the blue pill
I don't want to know
Three girls live inside me
And none will let me go
Blue pill
Blue pill
Give me one more summer
Before I let it go
Three girls keep on singing
And none will let me go
And all of them are searching
For the place I've never known
Why oh why
Isn't there a blue pill
Why oh why
Isn't there a blue pill
Into the corners of my eyes
Golden splinters in yours caught in sunlight
Turn to butterflies
A question falls between us
But drifts beyond my reach
And every song inside my head
Starts singing over me
Why oh why
Why oh why
Isn't there a blue pill
Give me the blue pill
I don't want to know
Three girls live inside me
And none will let me go
Blue pill
Blue pill
Three girls live inside me
And none will let me go
One is made of moonlight
One is made of fire
One keeps dancing barefoot
Through my wild desire
Peter Pan is laughing
Somewhere in the trees
Titania and Oberon
Are whispering through the leaves
A black spider spins her silver thread
Across a glass of wine
And every road I shouldn't take
Looks beautiful tonight
Give me the blue pill
I don't want to know
Three girls live inside me
And none will let me go
Blue pill
Blue pill
I am tired of choosing
Who I have to be today
One heart filled with longing
One heart dressed in sin
One heart still pretending
She can keep them all within
I told my heart a story
And it followed every word
Built a castle from a shadow
And believed in what I saw
I told my heart a lie
And it wore it like a crown
Now we're dancing with temptation
While the moon is falling down
Give me the blue pill
I don't want to know
Three girls live inside me
And none will let me go
Blue pill
Blue pill
Give me one more summer
Before I let it go
Three girls keep on singing
And none will let me go
And all of them are searching
For the place I've never known
Why oh why
Isn't there a blue pill
Why oh why
Isn't there a blue pill

Story
I AM the Door, is about the moment you stop measuring yourself against other people’s pace, expectations and definitions of who you should be.
Not behind. Not lost. Not too much or too little.
Sometimes you’re simply finding a shape that fits you better.
A search for your own rhythm, your own voice, and ultimately the space to become who you are becoming.
You are the door.
Not behind. Not lost. Not too much or too little.
Sometimes you’re simply finding a shape that fits you better.
A search for your own rhythm, your own voice, and ultimately the space to become who you are becoming.
You are the door.
Lyrics
I’m not confined, I’m initiating motion
Not at a loss, I’m gathering devotion
Not collapsing, I’m widening ground
Not misplaced, I’m precisely unbound
Not lagging behind, I’m tracing a way
Through shifting lines that refuse to stay
Not overthinking, I’m threading sense
Through tides of feeling, vast and dense
Not hollow, I’m clearing space to receive
Not disarrayed, I’m learning to reweave
I’m not late, I arrive in my own design
Unfolding in rhythms that don’t need time
I’m not outside looking in anymore
I step through the threshold, I am the door
New to the language of everything here
Uncharted terrain, both distant and near
I’ve stopped contorting to fit their view
I’m loosening shapes I once thought I knew
Fragile, solitary, tenderly strange
A body in flux, a quiet exchange
Like fog lifting slow from a waking field
Like nerves laid open, no longer concealed
Every element brushes against my skin
Heightened awareness settling within
I’m not late, I arrive in my own design
Unfolding in rhythms that don’t need time
I’m not outside looking in anymore
I step through the threshold, I am the door
I’m not empty, I’m making room
For something unnamed to enter and bloom
Not out of balance, I’m shifting the scale
Rewriting the center where I set sail
Not out of love, I’ve altered the view
No longer searching for proof in you
I’m starting, evolving, I’m learning the tone
Of a voice that is finally sounding my own
Etching my signature, uneven but true
Aligned with the self I am growing into
Not at a loss, I’m gathering devotion
Not collapsing, I’m widening ground

Story
The title “Bedienungsfehler” literally means something like “operating error” or “user error”: something has gone wrong while operating a device. The woman in the song deliberately turns this into a metaphor: she is not a romantic mystery to be decoded, but a system with an instruction manual. The men assume they should be able to operate her, figure her out or “get her right”, and when that fails, they conclude that something must be wrong with her. But she turns the logic around: the machine isn’t broken — you’re simply pressing the wrong buttons. Her blonde appearance, attractiveness and even her little upturned nose become a kind of supposed instruction manual for other people, who think they can deduce what she wants and feels from her looks. The real operating error, therefore, lies with the person who thinks they already know how she works.
Lyrics
Willkommen.
Drück nicht falsch, lies genau, was hier steht
Drück nicht falsch, lies genau, was hier steht
Kein Herzvertrag, kein falsches Versprechen
Bedienungsfehler – nicht zu berechnen
Kein Defekt.
Kein Skandal.
Nur kein Produkt
für eure Moral.

Story
Read Me Again is about the way women have been seen, described and defined throughout history. Appearance becomes evidence, assumptions become facts, and old prejudices return in new clothes.
For centuries, the same stories have been copied and pasted. But a woman is not an image, a footnote, or a story written for her by someone else.

Lyrics
We meet the story every day
Before we meet the soul
The ink is barely dry
Or the body’s barely cold
You see a face
Invent the rest
Just flip your page
No questions asked
We wear
Inherited skin
Few look within
Every portrait, every line
Across ages, across time
Stones get buried
Beneath a borrowed rhyme
You see a face
Copy
Paste
Reed me again
Go on
Reed me again
You’ll never find
What you came looking for
You brought her with you
Missing chapters, missing voices
Same beginning
Same damn end
And you
You wrote your story
Across my face
You call it wisdom
I call it recycled ink
Old conclusions
And an updated link
One glance becomes a verdict
One silence sets the hook
Hidden meanings bloom like weeds
In a line I never took
You reach the end before we start
Already casting me
In a script you know by heart
Every portrait, every line
Across ages, across time
You see a face
Copy
Paste
Reed me again
Go on
Reed me again
You still miss
What’s staring you in the face
Missing chapters
Missing voices
Same beginning
Same damn end
Some things lose their beauty
The moment they’re possessed
Some things die
The moment their name is spent
And you
You wrote your history
Across my face
Every answer
Starts from yesterday
Every judgment
Knows the words to say
Wisdom?
Recycled ink.
You don’t reed me
You read only echoes
Until they sound
Like mythologies
Reed me again
For you haven’t read
You read the headline
Skipped the pages
Missed the soul
Inside this body
You keep reading
History books
And use fresh headlines
Same old ink
Same beginnings
Same damn end
You never listened
So reed me again
Before we meet the soul
The ink is barely dry
Or the body’s barely cold

Story
“Blitz im Wasser” grew out of a morning walk through Amsterdam’s Vondelpark with a man who played with the fish by the large pond. I think his name was Giacomo. His appearance could be intimidating, but he was friendly, sharing fragments of a story about a circus, a lover and confusion inside a hall of mirrors. At times his cheerful mood vanished without warning, only to return a little later. Eventually, he began singing “Ne me quitte pas”, also in fragments. This song is my attempt to capture something of that unusual encounter, his story and its fragile beauty.
Lyrics
Wer lebt hier?
Blasen steigen, morsen,
sagte Giacomo, lachend, frei und klar.
Giacomo, geboren in Pisa, gestrickte Mütze,
tiefe Hose, sammelt Zweige, singt für sich.
Er erzählt von zwei Brüdern, einst Zirkusfamilie,
verwalteten das Spiegelzelt, verloren manchmal die Namen.
Ein Drama geschah, geheimnisvoll,
Mila ging fort, Giacomo schwieg,
Ohne Spiegel, ohne Ruh,

Story
Sterne im Kopf is about the small, star-shaped cells in our brains: astrocytes. They don’t simply support the brain; they also play an active role in processing information. The image of a head full of stars became a metaphor for everything that happens inside us: thoughts, emotions, memories, fear, anger, grief and imagination.
Because what do we actually do with all that thinking? We can use it to trap ourselves in old stories and beliefs, but we can also use that same capacity to find new ways forward, see things differently and help something grow. Even in the dark, light can emerge. Not everything has to be solved or finished today. Sometimes something new begins with a single thought.

Lyrics
Wenn dein Kopf mehr Wege kennt
als Sterne in der Milchstraßenzeit,
wer ist dann eigentlich göttlich
und wer gestaltet Wirklichkeit?
Und wenn man weiterdenkt, ganz frei,
ein wenig ins Blaue hinein —
wer formt am Ende deine Welt,
deine Nacht, dein Licht, dein Sein?
Wut zeigt dir deine Grenzen,
Angst warnt, wenn Gefahr dich nennt.
Trauer hilft dir loszulassen —
nichts davon ist umsonst geschenkt.
Manche fallen, brechen still,
immer wieder Licht findet.
Vielleicht nicht heute, nicht sofort,
doch irgendwo beginnt ein Keim —
zwischen all den Sternen
in deinem Kopf allein.
Kehr nach innen, in dein All,
flieg kurz auf einen fremden Stern.
Ruh dich aus, werd ruhig und stark,
kehr dann zurück — ein Stück entfernt.
Nähr dein Herz an deinem Feuer,
pflanz auch kleine Träume ein.
Was leise wächst, wird weiterleben —
nichts muss heute fertig sein.
Vertrau dem Werden.
Träume klein.
Nichts wächst in Eile.
Nicht einmal Licht.

Little Blue Scarab is about waiting for the moment when a new season, a new month or a new promise will finally change something inside you. But time passes without the emptiness simply going away. In fact, every time you tell yourself, “Then… then it will get better,” and it doesn’t, you only become more restless, more discouraged and more down.
Until, on an ordinary morning, on an ordinary street, something small happens: a little blue scarab, a found feather, a shell — small things that promise nothing and yet awaken something. Not a clear picture of the future, but a quiet kind of knowing that something is still alive, and that hope is not tied to any season or any particular moment in time.
The Stockdale Paradox means facing the harsh reality without deceiving yourself about how long it will take, while simultaneously holding on to the belief that you will ultimately prevail.
Little Blue Scarab is the basis for the German version, Ein Leises Wissen. You can find it among the German tracks.

Lyrics
In November I was counting
Down to Christmas light
Hope and fear were sitting
Side by side at night
Every promise had a season
I could hold on to
Every “then it will be better”
Almost felt like truth
But time kept breaking open
Every fragile plan
I kept reaching endings far before their time
Like a version of me waiting
Somewhere down the line
But the days don’t heal the hollow
They just pass me by
And no season ever answered
All those silent whys
February light lay flat
Against my skin
Dreaming spring would wake
Some kind of strength within
And the streets filled up with people
Turning toward the sun
Dancing into something
I could not become
All that growing green around me
Didn’t reach inside
I kept reaching endings far before their time
Like a version of me waiting
Somewhere down the line
Summer said, “Now maybe”
Warmth upon my face
But the river kept on running
Through an empty place
I thought the ocean wind might clear me
Blow the silence out
But even waves kept whispering
The same unspoken doubt
Firelight and laughter
Close but not within
Every song the birds were singing
Fell back into minor again
So I stopped asking when
Then one morning, without meaning
On an ordinary street
There it was — a small blue scarab
At my feet
Something in me stirred awake
Soft and unbidden
Not some promise of tomorrow
Just a moment, briefly risen
Not a future I can picture
Not a fixed design
Just a quiet kind of knowing
Outside of time
Now I keep these little treasures
On a wooden frame
A feather, shell, a golden heartbeat
With no name
I’ve no idea where this is leading
I don’t need to see
There is something here still living
Quietly in me
A deeper kind of hoping
That the dark can’t bind
Not tied to any season
Not held inside of time
Down to Christmas light
Hope and fear were sitting
Side by side at night
Every promise had a season
I could hold on to
Every “then it will be better”

Story
De Moestuin” uses a vegetable garden as an absurd yet pointed symbol of a struggle for power. From his office, a powerful man watches something grow that he did not create, cannot control, and cannot tolerate. He tries to fight it precisely because it confronts him with something power cannot get a grip on. The song is ultimately about power, control, and the uncomfortable strength of something that simply keeps existing for as long as it can.
Lyrics
Het gaat te goed.
Te goed, denkt hij.
Er valt te weinig van de rand
voor de ingreep van zijn hand.
Hij kijkt uit het raam.
Daar staat DE moestuin.
Elke morgen weer.
Alsof dat groen hem in de gaten houdt, alsof die tuin iets van hem wil;
Alsof dat groen hem in de gaten houdt, alsof die tuin iets van hem wil;

Story
What on earth is God up to? While everything down here seems to be falling apart, the song asks whether anyone up there is actually looking. Does God still see the dust, the loss, the suffering and the people who are hurting?
But underneath the angry and sometimes almost absurd questions lies another question: who is still really looking at each other? Who sees the pain behind someone’s eyes? Maybe we no longer see God looking back at us — but here on earth, we can still look at one another. And perhaps that is where something like responsibility, comfort and humanity begins.

Lyrics
Wenn es dich gibt, da oben irgendwo,
dann hab ich Fragen, keine Theorie.
Ich bin nicht klein, nur ratlos manchmal,
versteh so vieles immer noch nicht.
Vielleicht muss man nicht alles wissen,
vielleicht reicht Fühlen schon.
Doch manches, was ich sehe hier,
jemand zuhause?
in Schreie, Schläge, dunkle Gassen.
Zu wenig Licht, zu viel Blut.
Zu viel, um es so zu lassen.
Sag mal, Gott —
was machst du gerade?
Staub. Staub. Staub.
Gott, du führst Buch über Staub.
Ich mach hier unten kaum noch klar.
Ich brauch kein Zeichen, keinen Plan.
Nur Augen, die zurücksehn —
wenn ich dich anseh, ganz und gar.
Ich meine —
du hoffst doch auch,
dass jemand da ist, oder?
Dass da jemand zu Hause ist.
Dass, wenn du jemanden ansiehst
mit Verzweiflung oder Schmerz,
in diesen Augen
jemand zurückschaut.
Oder?

Not My Circus, Not My Monkeys, grew from observing how we keep wanting more, further and higher. Our ‘monkey brain’ constantly seeks stimulation and immediate reward. But this endless pressure to perform, keep up and respond can also fuel chronic stress, exhaustion and burnout. As a psychologist, I know that stepping away from what isn’t ours to carry can be an important part of staying well. Sometimes you simply have to say: this is not mine.
Lyrics
They walk around with chips on their shoulders
Counting every wrong I’ve done
“Yeah yeah, the meeting, don’t be late”
While scrolling reels for hours on end
Faces glowing in the dark at dinner
Eyes that never really land
Running hard on silent pressure
Chasing clocks they never planned
Too late, too slow, not where they should be
At their age, in their rat race, in their dream machine
Not my circus
Not my monkeys
Not that noise
Not my weight
Keep your chaos out my doorway
I don’t carry what you create
All those monkeys screaming louder
I don’t feed them, I don’t wait
They leave their piles upon my table
Mountains I won’t take down
Phones glued tight against their ears
Polite words, but no one’s around
No invitations, just expectations
Dressed up nicely as “we care”
If their minds were turned inside out
We’d have monkeys everywhere
So loud, so fast, so disconnected
Every step just more corrected
Not my circus
Not my monkeys
Keep them running in your head
All that pressure you keep throwing
I lay in sunlight instead
Tell me…
Do you really wanna live like this?
Head pounding
Neck locked tight
Shoulders holding borrowed weight
Mind running circles
Something pulling, never full
Like a thousand little voices
Always needing something new
Tell me…
Do you ever just sit still?
I feel the grass beneath my bare feet
I don’t dodge the rain, I stay
No Wi-Fi, still connected
To the ones that feel like home
So keep your circus
Keep your monkeys
Spinning somewhere far away
I’ll be playing
Quiet, grounded
In my own unhurried day
Counting every wrong I’ve done
“Yeah yeah, the meeting, don’t be late”
While scrolling reels for hours on end
Faces glowing in the dark at dinner

Alles in Butter? takes an ironic look at all the well-meant clichés, sayings and pieces of wisdom that ultimately just brush aside what is really going on. I don’t need to hear that hardship will make me stronger. I’d rather have a look, a comforting hand, or someone willing to truly see what is happening — instead of hiding behind clichés and easy wisdom.
Lyrics
Heute drehte ich fast durch,
mein Kopf stand schon in Flammen,
„Was dich nicht umbringt, macht dich stärker …“
Er liegt da völlig offen,
wo nimmt man so was her?
Diese Sprüche an den Wänden,
diese kalten Marmorbilder —
„Lebensweisheit … nur fürs Schaufenster.“
Ich versteh’ nur Bahnhof heute,
was soll ich damit tun?
Während wir alte Kamellen wärmen,
brennt hier und jetzt die Welt.
Halt mich fest — gib mir einen Kuss,
denn ich fall’ aus allen Wolken
bei all dem, was ich hör’.
Oder lass mich lieber schreien,
gegen Mauern, gegen Stein —
hör einfach meine Wahrheit an.
Kein Fliesenspruch — kein „wird schon gehen“,
keine Wand voll leerer Worte mehr.
Sieh, wo ich steh’ — sieh, wer ich bin,
bleib bei mir — und halt mich fest.
Ich brauche keinen Spruch aus Stein,
ich brauche dich —
und echtes Sein.
„Das Leben ist kein Ponyhof“ —
nee, echt?
„Mach’ mal reinen Tisch“ —
Sag mir einfach, was wahr ist.
Kein Fliesenspruch — kein „wird schon gehen“,
kein Lächeln aus Beton für mich.
Hör mir zu — steh hier bei mir,
bleib bei mir — und halt mich fest.
Ich brauch kein Mantra, kein Papier,
ich brauche dich —
und jetzt — und hier.
Hör mich an.
Nicht drüber reden —
nicht drum herum.
Ich steh’ hier — mitten in der Stadt,
mit Herz und Haut und Mut.
Ich will nicht stark sein — nur echt,
nicht höher, schneller, klüger —
nur gesehen.
Kein Fliesenspruch — kein leeres Wort,
mein Kopf stand schon in Flammen,
der Dampf kam aus den Ohren —
ich bin es so verdammt leid.

Story
Verloren is about the realisation that sometimes you don't just love someone, but also the version of them you have created in your own mind. From that perspective, the love can feel completely real — until reality reveals itself. What remains is the confusion between what was, what you believed was there, and what you never truly had. A song about longing, loss, and finding your way back to yourself when a love turns out to have been something different from what you believed.
Lyrics
Verloren
ik ben verloren
zoekend tussen jouw handen,
kwijt in je stem,
onder ge-gaan in jouw ogen
en opgestaan in jouw overhemd
ik ben verloren
zoekend ben ik in mijn gedachten
weggerend in uitzichtloze nachten
Heb ik verloren
alles wat je nooit hebt gezegd
wat ik zo verdomd graag zou horen
maar al deze dromen zijn verloren
want ze zijn allemaal niet echt
(Chorus)
ik ben verloren
(Verse 3)
verloren raak ik tussen jou
verdwenen zonder zicht op later
ik weet niet waar ik mezelf
hierin moet laten
wat jij me nooit gegeven hebt
ik mis je in niets van
wat jij nooit gedragen hebt
en noem het toch verlangen
ik ben verloren
hoe vind ik mezelf nog langs
deze oeverloze leegte
die jij
achter hebt gelaten
van iets wat nooit was
wat ik nooit kon verliezen
niet toen,
niet nu,
niet later
ik ben verloren
zoekend tussen jouw handen,
kwijt in je stem,

Story
This song is inspired by Maria Moltzer (1874–1944), the Dutch nurse and pioneering psychoanalyst who worked closely with Carl Gustav Jung (1875–1961) from 1910 onward.
Their intellectual and possibly personal relationship eventually ended in a rupture, after which Moltzer withdrew from Jung’s circle in 1918.
In 1916, she had developed her own ideas about intuition as a psychological function, ideas that later became part of Jung’s typology.
Her withdrawal raises the question of how much of her isolation was a choice, and how much was the result of a painful personal and intellectual struggle.
The song portrays a woman retreating from the world not simply to disappear, but to protect her own mind, claim her own voice and fight for her place as a psychoanalyst.

Lyrics
If God doesn't play dice with the universe,
why's He playing games with me?
He keeps throwing my soul around,
like a coin without a prayer,
never caring where I fall.
I never asked for miracles.
I never begged the stars to move.
All I ever wanted
was you.
I keep looking for a reason,
trying to read between the lines.
If this story had a purpose,
why'd it end before its time?
If God doesn't play dice with the universe,
why's He playing games with me?
God must be playing...
throwing my soul around,
like a coin without a prayer,
never caring where I fall.
'Cause all I wanted,
all I ever wanted,
was you by my side.
Not heaven.
Not answers.
Not another lesson to survive.
Just you,
by my side.
You felt like home before I knew you,
like we'd met somewhere beyond this life.
Every road I'd ever wandered
ended somewhere in your eyes.
So tell me how a heart can know it
when fate just walks away.
Why let me find my heaven
if heaven couldn't stay?
So I keep staring at the constellations,
tracing every line they ever drew.
Looking for a road, a sign, a reason,
anything that leads me back to you.
If every star already knows its story,
if every soul is written in the sky...
Then why introduce me to my heaven
just to leave me here in hell?
If God doesn't play dice with the universe,
why's He playing games with me?
God must be playing...
throwing my soul around,
like a coin without a prayer,
never caring where I fall.

Story
Nie gedacht is about daring to believe in closeness again. After a long time of being alone, waiting and protecting yourself, someone can suddenly enter your life without asking anything of you. No pressure, no fear, no need to become someone else — just the unexpected realisation that your heart can still open.
Lyrics
Sonnenlicht küsst mein Gesicht,
durch meine Wimpern seh ich den Raum.
Zwischen Zweigen tanzt das Licht,
wirft bewegte Schatten an die Wand.
Sommerglanz liegt still in mir,
so tief, so weich,
mit einem Herz, das wieder glaubt.
Nie gedacht,
dass Nähe sich so richtig anfühlt.
Nie gedacht,
dass ein Blick so viel hält.
Nach all dem Warten, all dem Kreisen
bist du da —
und alles fällt an seinen Platz.
Ich strecke einen Fuß ins Warme,
hör deinen ruhigen Atem gehn.
Du drehst dich leise zu mir um,
als würdest du mich schon verstehn.
Kleider liegen auf dem Boden,
eine Hand auf meinem Rücken.
Was in mir längst erloschen war,
beginnt sich neu zu entzünden.
Nie gedacht,
nach all dem Stillsein in mir,
dass Vertrauen
wieder wachsen darf.
Nie gedacht,
dass Nähe sich so richtig anfühlt.
Nie gedacht,
dass Berührung nichts verlangt.
Ich war zufrieden mit dem Alleinsein —
und dann kommst du
und alles fängt neu an.
Ich hab gewartet, mich verborgen,
mein Licht zu lange weggesperrt.
Du sahst mich an, ganz ohne Eile,
hast mein Feuer still geweckt.
Wer hat dich mir geschickt?
Wer hat das so gemeint?
Vielleicht war es einfach Magie —
ich weiß es nicht.
Nie gedacht,
dass Nähe sich so richtig anfühlt.
Nie gedacht,
dass Liebe so ruhig sein kann.
Kein Lärm, kein Müssen, keine Angst —
nur du hier
und ein Morgen, der beginnt.
Sonnenlicht auf meiner Wand.
Ich öffne die Augen.
Du lächelst mich an.
Nie gedacht.
durch meine Wimpern seh ich den Raum.
Zwischen Zweigen tanzt das Licht,
wirft bewegte Schatten an die Wand.
Sommerglanz liegt still in mir,
so tief, so weich,
mit einem Herz, das wieder glaubt.
Nie gedacht,
dass Nähe sich so richtig anfühlt.
Nie gedacht,
dass ein Blick so viel hält.
Nach all dem Warten, all dem Kreisen
bist du da —
und alles fällt an seinen Platz.
Ich strecke einen Fuß ins Warme,
hör deinen ruhigen Atem gehn.
Du drehst dich leise zu mir um,
als würdest du mich schon verstehn.
Kleider liegen auf dem Boden,
eine Hand auf meinem Rücken.
Was in mir längst erloschen war,
beginnt sich neu zu entzünden.
Nie gedacht,
nach all dem Stillsein in mir,
dass Vertrauen
wieder wachsen darf.
Nie gedacht,
dass Nähe sich so richtig anfühlt.
Nie gedacht,
dass Berührung nichts verlangt.
Ich war zufrieden mit dem Alleinsein —
und dann kommst du
und alles fängt neu an.
Ich hab gewartet, mich verborgen,
mein Licht zu lange weggesperrt.
Du sahst mich an, ganz ohne Eile,
hast mein Feuer still geweckt.
Wer hat dich mir geschickt?
Wer hat das so gemeint?
Vielleicht war es einfach Magie —
ich weiß es nicht.
Nie gedacht,
dass Nähe sich so richtig anfühlt.
Nie gedacht,
dass Liebe so ruhig sein kann.
Kein Lärm, kein Müssen, keine Angst —
nur du hier
und ein Morgen, der beginnt.
Sonnenlicht auf meiner Wand.
Ich öffne die Augen.
Du lächelst mich an.
Nie gedacht.

Story
Kannst Du Das Tragen, Mann?! is de Duitse versie van Can You Handle Her.
Lyrics
Du willst ’ne starke Frau an deiner Seite
Ohne Angst, ohne Zelt?
Sie braucht keinen, der sie lenkt
Keinen, der sie formt
Sie sucht keinen Mittelpunkt
Sie sucht einen Ort
Wenn sie liebt, dann offen
Nicht leise, nicht klein
Doch wer Stärke nur will
Will eigentlich allein sein
Hier geht’s nicht um Macht
Hier geht’s um Stand
Neben ihr zu stehen
Braucht mehr als Verstand
Kannst du das tragen – Mann?
Wenn sie größer wird, nicht zahmer dann
Sie wird nicht kleiner für dein Ich
Also sag mir:
Hältst du das aus – oder nicht?
Wenn sie sich sicher fühlt
Wird sie weit, nicht fern
Freiheit ist kein Risiko
Sie ist Nähe – gelernt
Kannst du das tragen – Mann?
Nicht besitzen, nicht bannen
Nur bleiben, wenn sie bleibt
Sag mir ehrlich:
Kannst du das tragen – Mann?

Story
My Favorite Mistake is about knowing something isn’t good for you and choosing it anyway. About losing yourself in something you already knew wouldn’t work. And finally deciding: I won’t leave myself behind again.
Lyrics
What if this never happened
Where would it have left me
What if this belonged to another life
Another version of me
I’d be light on a Sunday morning
Easy in my skin
Nothing pulling underneath me
No storm I’m standing in
I try to understand your meaning
Make sense of upside down
I try to stand without leaning
But my heart won’t leave the ground
This is a shit-show, ridiculous in size
My favorite mistake
Yeah, I made it twice
Yeah, I know better now
How do I clean this mess you left me in
How do I rewrite the script you wrote
It’s this darkness I’m drowning in
So I leave myself this note
My favorite mistake
Yeah, I made it twice
I wanted something real to hold
Not something I defend
You gave me just enough to stay
And nothing in the end
Funny how I saw it all
And still chose to ignore
Knew exactly what you were
Still came back for more
Yeah, I know better now
How do I clean this mess you left me in
How do I rewrite the script you wrote
It’s this darkness I’m drowning in
So I leave myself this note
My favorite mistake
Yeah, I made it twice
I will never leave my heart behind
In the hands of the likes of you
I will stay right by my own side
Yeah, that’s what I’ll do
I don’t need another warning sign
I don’t need another proof
Keep that in mind, my dearest mind
I’ll choose the higher ground
My favorite mistake
Yeah… not this time
Where would it have left me
What if this belonged to another life

Story
“Verlorene Schattenarbeit” draws on Carl Jung’s idea that confronting the shadow is essential to becoming a more complete human being. Shadow work is not about eliminating the darker parts of ourselves, but about acknowledging what we would rather not see: vulnerability, fear, aggression, shame, desire and contradiction. By bringing these hidden parts into consciousness, we create the possibility for integration and genuine growth.
In this song, that process has failed. The person has not explored or integrated their darkness; they have simply moved into it and begun to mistake it for truth, authenticity and freedom. Nothing underneath is moving. Whenever something becomes visible, it is projected onto someone else. What could have become an opportunity for growth therefore remains untouched.
The tree without a shadow in the visual language of the song represents this paradox: without a shadow, nothing appears to be hidden, yet there is also nothing left to discover. “Verlorene Schattenarbeit” asks an uncomfortable question: what happens when someone believes they know themselves completely, while never truly being willing to face themselves?

Lyrics
Du zeigst dich
Ohne Zögern
Nennst es echt
Nennst es dich
Du trägst dein Dunkel
Nach außen
Wie ein Gesicht
Du hast keinen Schatten
Du bist darin
Und nennst es Freiheit
Du bleibst stehen
Und nennst es Wahrheit
Doch nichts in dir
Bewegt sich
Du bist nicht gefallen
Du bist geblieben
Wo es nicht weh tut
Du bist nicht geworden
Du bist nur
So geblieben
Du zeigst auf andere
Wenn etwas sichtbar wird
Damit niemand sieht
wo du wirklich bist
Denn darunter
Liegt etwas
Das du nicht halten kannst
Du bist nicht gefallen
Du bist geblieben
Wo es nicht weh tut
Du bist nicht geworden
Du bist nur
So geblieben
Dort wartet etwas
Ohne Stimme
Ohne Schutz
Ohne dich
Du bist nicht gefallen
Du bist geblieben
Im selben Licht
Du bist nicht geworden
Du hast dich
Nur bewahrt
Und nennst es
Dich
Du
Dich
Ohne Zögern
Nennst es echt
Nennst es dich

Story
Some encounters last for years, others only for a moment. Yet each can leave something behind. A glance, a conversation, a love, a friendship or a chance meeting can set something in motion that might never have happened otherwise. Not every encounter is meant to last. That doesn’t make it any less meaningful.
Lyrics
People think that moving on
Means you leave it all behind
Like the story never happened
Like you erase a piece of time
But some things stay in silence
Not in pain, but understood
You became a part of me
In a way that always will
A page that fell into my story
Written softly in the sand
Even when the waves have taken
Still the words are in my hands
I didn’t forget you
I let it be true
We met for a reason
That carried us through
I didn’t forget you
I let it be what it was
We met for a reason
And that reason has run its course
You were never a mistake
Everything we had was real
All the laughter, all the moments
Even what I couldn’t feel
You touched places deep inside me
I didn’t understand back then
Only later came the clarity
Nothing here was ever in vain
Some arrive just like a season
Touch your soul and then they go
Leaving something waking in you
Something only they could show
I didn’t forget you
I let it be true
We met for a reason
That carried us through
I didn’t forget you
I let it be what it was
We met for a reason
And that reason has run its course
Not every love is meant to stay
Not every path is meant to last
Some are only there to open doors
And gently close them in the past
Sometimes pain and sometimes nothing
Just a quiet passing breeze
But even in the leaving
There’s a meaning underneath
So no, I didn’t forget you
I made peace with what was true
Our story reached its ending
Because it said what it came to
We met for just a moment
And that moment was enough
Not forever, not forgotten
Just a story shaped by love
Means you leave it all behind
Like the story never happened
Like you erase a piece of time
But some things stay in silence
Not in pain, but understood
